The IRCA seeks to implement all relevant technical and organisational security measures in order to guarantee personal information and sensitive data safety, in accordance with legislation on data protection and the handling of personal information.
The IRCA takes great care in ensuring the handling of sensitive personal information always complies with all personal data protection legislation in effect. In the IRCA’s data protection declaration (available below in Icelandic) an overview of individuals’ personal data collected by the IRCA, and its use, can be viewed.
The IRCA deems it imperative to protect and secure the institution’s sensitive information from threats without and within, and guaranteeing its security in a proper manner in the course of all handling and archiving. Through this policy, IRCA employees, customers and other parties can trust in the IRCA’s commitment to protecting sensitive information w.r.t. secrecy, propriety and accessibility.
Individuals have the legal right, in accordance with data protection legislation # 90/2018, to request information on what of their sensitive personal information, if any, the IRCA uses in its operations.
Requests for information should be filed by using the “Contact us” tab on the IRCA’s website. In the request, the requester’s full name, birth identification number, email address, home address and telephone number must be supplied.
