The IRCA is a sought after workplace and the country’s largest executive agency, handling diverse projects all across Iceland. There are 18 offices and service stations in total, with headquarters in Garðabær.

Roughly 370 employees retain permanent jobs at the IRCA, 55% of which are located outside of the capital region. Women are 23% of all employees and 39% of executives.

The goal of the IRCA is to hire, retain and strengthen capable, passionate employees with an emphasis placed on a healthy, safe and entertaining workplace environment.

The IRCA's history

Road construction is storied in Iceland, since transport has always been extremely important for the country's population and urban development. Iceland's first engineer was hired in 1893, or 133 years ago.
