Maintenance work on Óseyrarbrú bridge on Eyrarbakkavegur road (34) will begin on Tuesday, 29 September. During the work, only one lane will remain open across the bridge, with traffic controlled by temporary traffic lights. Minor delays can be expected.

Contractors working on behalf of the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration will carry out maintenance work on Óseyrarbrú bridge across the Ölfusá estuary over the coming weeks. The work is necessary to maintain the condition and safety of the bridge.
The work area will occupy one of the bridge’s two lanes, meaning that only one lane will remain open to traffic past the site. Traffic will alternate across the bridge and will be controlled by temporary traffic lights. The speed limit in the vicinity of the work area will be reduced to 30 km/h.
Work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 29 September and is expected to continue for approximately four weeks, until the end of October, weather permitting. The schedule may therefore be subject to change if weather conditions affect progress.
Road users are asked to exercise caution, follow all signs and traffic signals, observe the temporary speed limit and take particular care when passing the work area. Minor delays can be expected while the work is under way, and travellers are advised to allow a little extra time for their journey.
