Construction work on the Höfðabakki Bridge
Construction work on Bæjarháls has been going well in recent weeks, and tonight work will begin on the Höfðabakka Bridge. The aim is to complete the work during off-peak hours.
The contractor will begin work on surface finishing of the footpaths and indentation for street lighting and traffic lights on existing traffic islands. Traffic delays can be expected due to this work.
Footpaths in Bæjarháls will also need to be temporarily closed to complete the pipe work. This closure will begin tomorrow and will last for 2-3 weeks. Pedestrians will be directed to the underpasses at Árbæjarsafn to the west of the work area and down to Bitruháls/Hraunbær to the east.
The City of Reykjavík and the Icelandic Road and CoastalAdministration are working together on the construction in question.
