Wave forecast in shallow waters applies to areas where the seabed bathymetry affects the wave propagation. It is based on numerical models taking in account the local bathymetry, offshore waves and wind. Wave forecasts for offshore areas from the European Centre for Medium ranged Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) are transferred to near shore waters by running the model twice every day.
